How I can support you during labor:

  • Comfort Measures:  This includes massage, counter pressure, heat/cold, etc.

  • Positioning:  I help facilitate and suggest types of position change, as needed, throughout labor.

  • Advocacy:  I help you and your partner advocate for your labor preferences.

  • Emotional Support & Encouragement: No matter how you choose to give birth, I will support your decisions and help encourage you to achieve the birth you want.

  • Partner Support: My job is NOT to replace your partner, but instead help your partner support you.  Often, having a doula present can relieve stress on your partner during labor.

  • Educational Support: I can help you and your partner understand what is going on in labor and what your choices may be.

  • After Birth Support:  After giving birth, I will stay with you for up to 2 hours until you are ready for me to go. During this time, I can help facilitate bonding and feeding your baby.

  • Photos:  I am happy to take photos after the birth or at any other time that it is possible or appropriate, according to your wishes.
